Has Your Computer Slowed Down Over The
Last Few Years?
From Terry Russell “The Computer Doctor”
Here’s a quick cost-free tip to help with your computer’s speed.
Windows provides allot of different options to customize the look and feel of your screen.
However, those pretty things may be causing your computer to run slower.
Fading icons, drop down shadows, animated windows are just a few of the fancy features you can displayed while working on your computer.
However most of these features are not necessary.
To increase your Windows speed , take control of your Windows display options, you will see the difference!
So, if you would like to increase your Windows speed you can eliminate some or all of these options.
Here’s how you can do it:
First, Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Next, Click System.
Then, Find the Advanced tab and Click
After That, Under Performance, Click Settings
Under the Visuals Effects tab, you can choose from a list of different
options such as Adjust for best performance or Custom.
If you choose Adjust For Best Performance, all the features will be unchecked.
Just click on OK at the bottom of the Performance Options screen
and your changes will take effect.
Try this first to see how your computer will run without any of the bells and whistles.
However if you feel Windows is too boring, choose Custom.
Then you can individually add whatever features you like to make your Windows display look right for you.
You probably will find that even if you add a few items your overall performance will be better than what you had before you started.
I hope this helps you!
All the Best!
