What I Did For My Customer And What I Will Do For You!

Part 3 of 3

So I wrote “Care & Feeding of the Home & Business Computer”

One day I sat down and listed all the common problems that were causing all the havoc for my customers and then wrote down all the solutions that were effective in solving them.

I have tried to write it without any geek talk as much as possible with examples where possible.

This ended up as a handout document that I shared with my customers and trained them to follow it.

“Care And Feeding of The Home & Business Computer V.1.0 will give you the same basics that I taught my customers and helped me to grow my business at a very rapid rate and also helped me to have mush less stress while running my business.

Believe me I wanted my customers to have a great experience with my service and my products.

I did all of this to help me as much as them, and it worked better than I ever thought it would!

I shared this document with my customers and urged them to follow the simple tips, tricks and techniques given in it.

I printed out hundreds of copies of the document and gave it out to anyone who would take it.

Eventually it could be found in any cubicle and home in the district.
It was amazing what this document did for my business.

The Results

This is what happened;

My customers were happy.

Their computers ran more smoothly and almost always ran without any trouble.

They had a lot less stress while working with their equipment because they now had faith in the stability of their equipment.

Far less lost time due to machine failure and the original speed of the machine was maintained.

Warranty work and claims virtually disappeared.

I found myself spending more time consulting and teaching instead of selling and fixing computers.

I could ask and get exactly what I wanted for my services. I really like that part.

I did not have to advertise at all anymore.

My customers gave me lots of referrals and repeat business.

People were calling me without me ever contacting them.

I made myself stand out from all other computer dealer in my market place and still did not have to have a store expense or location to tie me down.

What I Can Do For You

The success of Care & Feeding of Home & Business Computers V.1 has encouraged me so much that I have decided to build on the first document and publish a more comprehensive Version 2.0.
Also I will be writing a new version for Windows 7 after I get the operating system.

The these new documents will have more tips and techniques for looking after your computing resources.

And it will include a list of products I have tested and recommend, along with step-by-step instructions on where to find them and how to use them.

In the meantime I am giving you small part of Care & Feeding of The Home & Business Computers Version 1.0.

I looked at the Version 1.0 of Care & Feeding of The Home & Business Computer and found that it needs an update to make it useful for today’s version of Windows XP, so a little work needs to be done before I can release it again.

Remember I wrote this item almost 20 years ago.
