Do You Use Recycled Toner Cartridges?
Whatever the cost of your printer originally, the biggest cost item
associated with your printer will be the replacement toner cartridges.
I use new cartridges made by the manufacturer of my printer.
I am a low volume user so I don’t keep spare cartridges around.
I want to make sure there is no problems with my printing and don’t
want to deal with quality issues.
However I will not discount the value of using re-cycled cartridges and plan on using them in the future.
If you printing demands are greater than mine and you need to have
spare cartridges available, recycled cartridges are a very attractive solution.
There are some potential problems with recycled cartridges and I
will talk about them here.
When a company gets a cartridge from a source to be recycled, usually
there is not too much they have to do to get it ready for the next
customer.
Depending on the age and use of the cartridge, it may be in perfect condition. After some basic electronic checks the recycler adds new toner and packages the cartridge.
Because of the large volume of cartridges that these recyclers handle sometimes a cartridge with problems may slip thru their quality control and be shipped to a customer.
If you get one of these cartridges, don’t freak out.
Just call your supplier and get a return authorization and send it back to them. Put in another cartridge and you are good to go.
Suppliers and manufactures of recycled toner cartridges know this is
going to happen once in a while and will do their best to help you.
The most common problem with recycled cartridges is the black line that can show up on the side of a printed page.
This is usually caused by a defect on the printing drum which an electronic check of the cartridge will not find.
This can only be found visually, so this is the most common problem that people will have with a recycled cartridge.
Even with this problem recycled cartridges can provide great cost savings, and is well worth taking the time to explore your options.
There are lots of suppliers of printer cartridges in the market place.
I like using Tiger Direct for most of my computer supplies, you will see the Computer Memory banner for Tiger Direct on this page. Just click on it to go to their web site.
Here is a printer cartridge company that I know of and
suggest that you pay each a visit and see if they can help you;
Carrot Ink toners save you money without sacrificing print quality.
Available for most popular laser printers out there (including color!), their compatible toner cartridges are manufactured under ISO 9001 standards to ensure consistent quality and performance.
They know you’ll be pleased as punch with these long-lasting, high-quality toner cartridges and their laser-sharp results, and like all their products, they guarantee them.
I hope you will find this helpful.
